FAQ's

What is a Virtual Tour?

A set of images arranged to give the viewer control of which direction they look and what they see. It gives a sense of actually being there and looking around themselves.

Why do I need a virtual tour?

More and more, customers are using the internet to research businesses before deciding which one to choose. If they have to travel a distance to you, showing them your offering remotely gives them the opportunity to make a better informed decision about your business.

What's the difference between a Google Street View Tour for Business and a bespoke 360 HD Virtual Tour?

Although the photography and image editing processes are mainly the same, Google tours are hosted by Google on their servers and they apply the tour controls and access whereas a bespoke 360 HD Tour is custom made with our tour controls and hosted on your web server or by us.

What's the difference between a Property Tour Video and a Property Promo Video?

A Tour Video is derived from the edited 360 images taken when photographing a 360 Virtual Tour, whereas the Promo Video is filmed on a video camera and not connected in any way with the 360 imagery. Both are viewed as video's on services such as YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo etc. and have no interaction, unlike a traditional 360 Virtual Tour which is fully interactive.

How much does it cost?

Please see our pricing page for details.

How long does the photography take?

360° images take, on average, about 4 to 6 panoramas per hour. For example, a 4-bed property will take about 3-4 hours for a full 360° tour. Stills photography would add another 2-3 hours, and for video filming on the same property would add another 3-4 hours.

Why does the photography take so long?

We photograph in HDR, which means each photograph has to be taken on a tripod at various exposures, and "framed" correctly, ensuring distortions are minimised.

Do I need to be present during the shoot?

No. We will discuss your requirements prior to photographing the location. As long as we have access that's all that is required.

How long does the whole process take?

Depending on our schedule, we can get your tour fully photographed and rendered within 10 days, but we do like to spend time on the image quality, so it could take a little longer. During busier periods, the editing time is scheduled into the studio diary and we work through the editing in chronological order. We will give you an estimation of current workloads when you make an enquiry.

What areas do you cover?

We cover the UK and beyond. In some countries, we are required to obtain a working permit/visa prior to travelling. For the UK, we have a simple pricing structure for each area - see our pricing pages for more information. If we can't accommodate you in a reasonable time because of geographical location, we may be able to recommend a good tour provider in your area.

How do I show a 360° tour on my website?

For custom bespoke tours, it's up to you. We can either give you all the required files for you or your internet team to integrate into your website, or provide a simple link to place on your website and host the tour for you. Unlike some tour providers, there is no additional charge or annual fees for this service. We'll provide you with an exclusive web address also, for example; www.yourbusiness.360hdtours.co.uk.

For Google Street View for Business tours, links to embed codes are provided via Google Maps when viewing each panorama.

Can I show my 360° tour on YouTube?

No and Yes. A 360 HD Tour on its own is not video and, therefore, cannot be uploaded to YouTube. We do offer an optional Tour-to-Video conversion service however just for this purpose.

Do my customers need special software to view your tours?

No. The majority of devices and computers have an HTML5 browser installed on them. For legacy devices that don't support HTML5, we produce tours that playback in Flash.

I don't have a website, can I still have a tour?

Yes. We can provide a simple 1-page site with your tour on it. The web address will be www.yourbusiness.360hdtours.co.uk.

Can I use my own photographs in the tour?

No, sorry. We only supply complete packages including the photography. That way, we have control over the entire process and ensure your tour is of the highest quality.

Are there discounts available?

Yes. We are happy to discuss preferential rates with clients and businesses that require frequent use of the tour service. We also offer generous package prices if you are taking 2 or more of our services at the same time. In addition, we offer tour refreshes at preferential rates for existing clients who have remodelled their offering.

Are there any annual or additional charges?

No. We provide free tour hosting if required (see terms and conditions).

I have some security concerns about showing my business in this way.

Don't worry, if you only want the public areas to be on the tour, that's fine. The tour will consist of only the areas you require. If there are specific parts of a property or location that you require to be masked, we can do that at no additional charge and often without the viewer being aware.

Do I "own" the images, video or tour files once I have paid?

No, sorry. 360 HD Tours retains all copyright to any imagery we produce. (see terms and conditions).

Do you offer a hosting option for other suppliers tours or a personal website?

No, sorry. We only offer free hosting for our own tours.
